SunPower Bankruptcy: Understanding what it means
At Energy Concepts, we understand the recent bankruptcy filing by SunPower has raised concerns among our valued customers. To help our current and future customers understand this situation a little better, we have put together the following information.
Energy Concepts is NOT SunPower
Energy Concepts is an independent contractor with 32 years of service in Fresno, and surrounding areas. We are an independent dealer of SunPower solar panels and batteries. We’ve installed almost all makes and models of solar panels and we sell and install other products to best fit the needs of our customers.
SunPower Warranty
SunPower has long been recognized for the quality of its solar panels, with an impressively low failure rate of only 50 per 1 million panels. Additionally, SunPower's warranty obligations are supported by legally mandated reserves, ensuring continued protection for your solar installations. Also, two manufacturers of SunPower products have publicly stated they will honor warranty claims.
Solar Panels made by Maxeon: The panels themselves were manufactured by Maxeon, which is a separate company. Maxeon has issued a statement indicating that they will honor warranty claims on Sunpower branded panels made by them.
Microinverters made by Enphase: Another manufacturer, Enphase, has also issued a similar statement in support of a critical component of solar systems. The microinverter is attached to every panel and acts as a brain to manage the energy generation of each panel.
SunPower Loans and Leases
As the bankruptcy proceeds, we expect more information as to how the SunPower loans, leases or PPAs will be managed and who will take them over. We fully anticipate a buyer for all those financial contracts. We expect customers will be notified directly, however, we will also make every effort to update this page with that information. Please keep your loan, lease or PPA payments current.

The versatility of SunPower panels is one of their strongest features. These panels are compatible with various other products, allowing for maintenance and service using parts from different manufacturers. This ensures that even as the landscape changes, your solar system remains functional and efficient.
